Usama Mazhar, CFA

After working for a family-owned construction business, Usama was enthralled by the business world and wanted to learn more about investing. His curiosity led him to pursue a graduate degree in finance, which proved to be a cathartic experience as he finally made peace with not becoming a professional cricket player. Usama joined Burgundy in 2017 after being drawn by the firm’s investment philosophy and emphasis on client service. Currently, he works as a Product Specialist, serving as the bridge between the investment team and institutional client team. The role combines Usama’s interests of learning more about the world through the lens of portfolio companies and engaging in meaningful conversations with like-minded clients.
